What year is this similar to? 1857? 1858?

Well I would have to say 1858 when Lincoln accepted the Republican nomination. 1857 when the Supreme Court ruled in the Dred Scott case that blacks were not citizens and therefore couldn’t sue for freedom is a close call. But only because 1958 involved a Presidential candidate that would become President, is the reason I went with 1858..
