“So, I don’t think Sessions is corrupt, but either he just doesn’t get what we’re up against or they have someth8ing on him.”

Or, being the victim of a groundless witch hunt is the best thing that ever happened to Trump and he wants to make it last.

I saw a movie where mommy and daddy are going through a nasty divorce and mommy, who comes from old money, has her lawyers pretty much destroy daddy, financially and socially.

But as a result, the kids wind up sympathizing with daddy, and that’s all he really cares about, so he wins by losing.

That’s Trump - he has never asked Sessions or anyone else to “go for the kill”. I think he actually tells them to stand down.

Trump is gradually gaining the trust of the American people. Do you think that would be happening if he had heeded the demands of his most bloodthirsty supporters to “lock her up”?

If Jeff Sessions had been what we originally hoped he would be - a machete-wielding “executioner” slogging blood-soaked through the deep state swamp with Democrat body parts flying right and left - would that have earned Trump the trust of the people?

Some of Trump’s strongest supporters, right here on FR, seriously want Trump and Sessions to build a gallows and hang Obama’s minions for treason. Isn’t it obvious that Trump, despite his hilarious “because you’d be in jail” debate zinger, is simply not interested in branding himself as the President who put his political opponent in prison?

It’s generally accepted that the purpose of a DOJ and AG is to go after all kinds of crime or corruption, but when it is POLITICAL corruption, like Obama’s minions were engaged in on behalf of Democrats, I question whether that is an appropriate role for the DOJ, within the executive branch of a Republican administration. Am I the only one that sees a problem with that?

I think Trump sees a problem with it too, which may explain why he seems to be avoiding it like the plague.

It would be great if some of the justice-seeking legislators like Jordan, Meadows, Goodlaite, etc. could succeed in their efforts, and force a “reluctant” Trump, Sessions, RR, etc. to prosecute and punish these Obama era officials - but the driving force must be the legislators, not the Trump administration.

There is a great deal of truth to this.

Because Trump is almost 100% instinctive, you never know what he is “planning” and what he just senses is the most effective course.
