The Russians are responsible for the 400K GI dead in WWII because they allied with and supplied Hitler to help him overrun Poland and then the West. They are also responsible for the 100K dead in Korea and Vietnam because neither would have occurred without heavy Russian material support. The question foremost in their minds would be - why are some conservatives cozying up to an unrepentant Russia looking to play the role of WWII Italy to China’s Germany?
