Had Vdare been allowed, freepers who don’t live in front line California would have known far sooner what a huge threat to America mass immigration has become. Instead what you had is the Bush-GOPe gestapo hunting down renegades who spoke up against them and their borderless world bullshit.

I agree. FR totally missed the opportunity to shift the Overton Window regarding open borders vs border protection.
The border protectors were silenced or run off of FR by the open-border GOPe crowd for some critical years in the early 2000s.
And most of the border is STILL wide open.
