Do not forget saving the world from the NAZIs.
The allies would very likely have lost the war if they did not break the NAZI codes. They gave the Allies a tremendous advantage.
It was the Poles who obtained a copy of the enigma machine and smuggled it to England. Without the Poles, it is unlikely the Allies would have broken the code.
