Amazon plans to hire 1,500 full-time employees for new Troutdale facility (Oregon)

TROUTDALE, Ore. – Amazon is beginning its hiring events for its new robotics fulfillment center in Troutdale this week.

The new, 855,000-square-foot facility opens in the fall and will create 1,500 full-time positions.

This is Amazon’s first robotics fulfillment center in the state.

Employees at the facility will pick, pack and ship customers items such as books, toys, and small electronics.

Amazon is holding the two hiring events this week:

Tuesday, August 7th Location: WorkSource 19421 SE Stark St. Portland, OR 97233 Times: 9AM-5PM Special Instructions: Parking is Free! Accessible to Bus Route 20 and MAX Blue!

Thursday, August 9th Location: Holiday Inn 477 NW Phoenix Dr., Troutdale, OR 97060 Times: 9AM-5PM Special Instructions: Free Parking! Accessible to Bus Routes 77, 80, and 81!

Applicants can also apply online at http://www.amazon.com/portlandjobs. Full-time employees will receive wages of up to $14 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, performance-based bonuses, 401K and company stock awards.

The company also offers up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave.

Top floor is finished, but not the bottom floor. I’m working as fast as I can...

Amazon is about to kick in it’s new air shipping wing. Saw two prime jets in a metro airport next to the new trans ship facility I’m trying to get done with this week. Then it’s off to troutdale or utah.

Just remember that the job you turn your nose up at is someone else’s dream job or at least helps bring home the bacon.

If you need a job - take it. But Amazon grinds their people into the ground. It is almost impossible to pack orders against their time standards. The hourly work force turnover is high. People walk off the job at lunch and never return.
