Some people simply refuse to see the gathering storm.
I know everyone is afraid to unplug especially Freepers. We are all a bunch of political junkies, otherwise, we wouldnt be on Free Republic.
But I still believe that the best solution to these types of problems is a free market solution. Yes, you will be out of touch for awhile but we will all be better in the long term.
It is like Trump’s trade war. We have to endure some short term pain to get free and fair trade.
It is the same with the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL which includes the social media platforms. The solution is simple. Stop paying them and stop letting them use our data for advertisers.
Unplug from cable tv and the social media platforms. All of these media companies have shareholders. Make the shareholders nervous. Make the brokerages list all of their stocks as sell.
The only thing we are absolutely sure about is that we keep using them they will not only keep doing what they are doing, they keep increasing their censorship until the conservative voice has been completely silenced.

You are correct that they can ban.....but not for race, color or religion.
As for banning for political affiliation, I don’t think that horse has been buried. I suspect that there will eventually be court cases resolving that question.
Jones might be obnoxious but the fact is that is not why he is banned because there are persons more obnoxious who have not been banned.

No. Freedom of speech is something that needs to transcend the "property rights" of companies that carry communications. We need to make that a particular exception to "property rights" because to do otherwise would have a seriously bad consequence to our system of governance.
I argue that our system of governance requires freedom of speech, and that means freedom of speech anywhere the public gather.
The Digital frontier is now the modern commons, and it must be treated as such.
If they will not respect our right to freedom of speech, than we should NOT respect their property rights to control such communications infrastructure. It should be imminent domained for the good of the Nation.

Yes, I’ve long ago cut cable, and I’ve established accounts at places like Gab.ai and Minds. The basic problem with that from a strategic perspective is that we can’t win by retreating into our echo chamber. They gain voters against us e new every day when kids turn 18 and when immigrants get citizenship and we gain voters against them when we “red pill normies”. We can’t red pill the normies if we’re only talking to ourselves on a separate platform.
