Well now THAT caught my eye! Footwear??? Made in the USA? Like clothing, shoe manufacturing was one of the first to go offshore so what is going on here?
A very interesting story, is what! Details can be found here: https://jeffdavisjda.com/ep-american-footware-made-in-usa/
This also lays out the basic facts of reshoring and the where, when and why of jobs returning to the US. Quality workforce, improved logistics, low cost energy, and because it’s WHAT WE WANT!
A MAGA win! I wouldn’t be surprised to see President Trump show up in Hazelhurst GA one of these days.
Well, there are still Red Wing shoes (working man), some New Balance (sneakers) and Allyn-Edmunds (professional) shoes made in USA.
Hope they aren’t looking to hire many employees. Only about 3,000 people in that city.
Also Alden shoes.
AFAIK There are no shoe manufacturers here in Canada anymore.
Only work boots. I have some from Red Wing, but we also have Viberg Boots here in Victoria.
If Trump’s manufacturing revival is successful, I hope there will be a similar effort here in Canada
I am looking around for opportunities for myself (although my health is currently less than what would be required).
Unfortunately, Canadians are cheap, so it’s going to be an uphill fight to compete with cheapo chinese crap.
