So if there are emails or calls I don’t want to receive, that dissonance is simply a sign that I, or my organization, has made a mistake, either in some process, or our choice of customers or suppliers.

Good perspective - I think Dr. Deming would approve considering a mistake in a process as a need for improvement.

By definition, mistake free work, means maximum success, falsely rewarded by unemployment. You worked yourself out of a job and now are a burden.

Two unemployed employees, one was a failure the other a total success with mistake free work.

How does a boss tell the difference? He does not. Bosses are ignorant.
High success in a job is punished.
Failure is punished.
Better is to adopt a herd mentality somewhat. Bosses are extremely stupid. You are lucky to have one competent boss your entire life. Learn the art of politics.
