Maybe I am late to this party. I have viewed with great disquietude the obsessions of the Media with respect to Trump. However, I was greatly perturbed by his statement following the Charlottesville Riot that there were good people on both sides. Sorry, I don’t believe that there are good neo-Nazis or Antifa’s, although I was willing to concede that not all of those protesting against the neo-Nazis were Antifa.
Yesterday, I made the mistake of watching the entire press conference on a C-SPAN youtube video. In the press conference, Trump clearly states that some of the protesters were there to protest the removal of General Lee’s statue and the re-naming of the park. It is clear that Trump is referring to this group, not the neo-Nazis, when he said that there were good people on both sides. He then speculates whether George Washington and Thomas Jefferson will be next to have their statues removed. Later in the press conference he again denounces the neo-Nazis.
It is therefore a willful lie on the part of the Media that Trump said that the neo-Nazis had some good people.
Uh, neo-nazis?
