Of course they don’t.
They wouldn’t be Socialists if they really knew what it was.
Bernie knows the truth... he’s been a socialist/commie since 1964.
It’s sunshine and lollipops, rainbows and butterflies, Puppy dogs, cotton candy, and happy birds chirping in green meadows. And all you have to do is give up your freedom.
A NY medical college is giving free tuition to its freshman students; they’ve raised something like $450,000 of the needed $600,000.
The free stuff ends when they run out of other peoples’ money. Then the fascists take charge. Force and fear are the incentives of a command economy.
It’s where you piggyback on someone else’s work.
Kind of like blog pimping.
Show them by working them for an entire week (full time) then show them the paycheck they would have gotten without socialism then show them the paycheck they get with socialism (75% less).
Ask them which check they want to get going forward in life. If they say the socialism check then they are a lost cause; irredeemable.
It is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, as per Winston Churchill.
Yep. My favorite millennial barista says this all the time. He thinks its a huge problem that most people who support socialism dont know what it really is.
And dont get him started on minimum wage with no tips vs. lower wage with tips (He far prefers the former).
Just attended an event with college students on how business works and how the economy depends on people working and making money. It was shocking to hear college age kids who didn’t realize a business needs to show a profit to survive. Our kids are being taught that business is evil.
I put forth that none of them understand, except for the few at the top, who will enrich themselves off the ignorance of the masses.
It beats trying to pass freshman calculus. Which they cannot.
Who would not want to get paid to study for six years at the expense of taxpayers who foot the bill and willingly pay as much as 56% of their income so that their dwindling progeny can get a leisurely college degree?
A point I made to a recently graduated friend now in $20K of debt. Forgive that debt and place the burden on the taxpayers, he says. Congratulations, I sez, you're now a taxpayer.
Even while he was still a devout socialist Orwell was shocked at his contemporaries who felt that the means of production could be expropriated by the state without revolution. What he had to say about the Fabians, especially Shaw, was barely printable. Yes, you can certainly steal all the factories (and other "means of production" as well, such as Google and Microsoft) or you can have the State "pay" for them a dime on the dollar, take it or leave it, but the upshot is that the old owners could run them and the new ones can't. Hope that degree in Social Justice included a couple of courses on subsistence farming, because you're going to need them.
