Thus reinforcing the word Ma’am in the childs mind by muscle memory. Great lesson teacher, another teacher who didn’t pay attention to how children actually learn in education class.

This is fascism. The teacher needs to be in jail for life. In CA, they put you in jail for using the “wrong” pronouns. This is fascism. The legislators who voted for that need to be in jail for life.

There was a female congress critter who got upset with a General who called her “ma’am” during testimony.

If it is a teacher in Maine, the one thing you cannot call him, her or it, is Honest!

What was the teachers grievance? That she had a respectful child in her class? This is what we were taughtb was the proper and respectful way to address female adults.

Children should learn to listen to their elders. If he was asked not to do a thing by a person in authority and still did it he should be prepared to accept the consequences.
That is how the world works and parents need to prepare children for the world , you can’t prepare the world for your children.

I remember a guy ( I think it was in 4th grade) who thought he was pretty clever, calling our teacher “Teach”. She finally got back at him by calling him “Pupe”. Once he got tired of being made fun of, he settled down and started showing her some respect. I sometimes wonder what ever happened to him.
