Other U.S. cities are catching up to DFW's manufacturing performance

Dallas-Fort Worth added 5,800 manufacturing jobs in June.

This represents a 2.1-percent employment increase from June 2017 to June 2018. While that rate is among the best in the nation, it's down from six months ago when the Dallas Business Journal examined the manufacturing sectors of the country's 15 largest metropolitan areas.

Here's how many manufacturing jobs were added during the June 2017 to June 2018 time frame. For a more in-depth look at each metro area, click through the slideshow above.

The 5,800 jobs added ranks No. 4 among the 15 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., and the 2.1-percent growth rate ranks No. 5 in the nation, according to data compiled from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Manufacturing sectors in other metropolitan areas are ramping up hiring this year and catching up with the rate of growth for Dallas and Houston.

Six months ago, DFW was tops in the nation in number of jobs added (tied for first with Houston as it rebounded from the oil crash) and had the third-highest job growth rate....

Please Amazon,et al, don’t choose Dallas as your new root. We dont need any more liberals, crowding, inflation, or stupidity.

Oh, wait, The Dallas City Council, and Hizonner could probably run off any prospective newcomer with their bone headed mendacity!

The Secret Plan of Mayor Rawlings, and his Idiot Council, to cut the police force, tear down statues and spend money on bridges that need to be demolished immediately after construction might just work to keep out people after all!The Genius of Rawling is hard to fathom for ordinary folks.

Jobs where things are actually made as opposed to jobs that mindlessly push data in circles to give the appearance of doing something.
