Serena is under a lot of pressure to win a record tying 24th slam. She would tie Margaret Court for 24 Grand Slams.
Serena said she was accused of ‘cheating’. How do you cheat at tennis? WTH? Something about receiving hand signals from a coach? What can be cheating on that?
I am not understanding this.
Then she was penalized a point for calling the referee a thief. WTH?
I may be siding with Serena here. I am not understanding what the frick was cheating and why she was penalized a point.
This is supposed to be a game of athletic talent and power, not a friggin personality clash with a dumbass referee.
If I’m wrong, someone please enlighten me.
Maybe, just maybe, its time to give a young mother and a great athlete some slack and consideration. She is not the first and won’t be the last competitive athlete in the heat of battle to demonstrate severe anger and frustration.
Watching the trophy presentations now. Serena was classless and Osaka was a classy young lady IMHO. Serena Williams is definitely NOT a decent human being — SHE made this match UGLY with her POOR SPORTSMANSHIP!

Maria Sharapova was one of those “feminist” tennis players who made a big deal about the men’s Wimbledon singles champ making about three percent more than the women’s champ. So Wimbledon caved and made it exactly even...though both contests had come out of different traditions with different endowments.
Now Billie Jean King who is the queen of lesbian tennis player feminists is very sensitive to the sports/corporate metaphor that women get exactly the same pay as men for 3/5ths of the productivity. So King is advocating that men only play three sets too. But what will King do about the average speed of men’s serves vs. women’s serves?
I have heard men argue with umpires but have never heard an umpire personally attacked the way this guy was tonight. She called him a thief and liar and then wanted an apology from him.
So, instead of calling for the men to be more civil to the judges, you thought you'd advance women's causes by testing to see if women could violate the rules concerning abuse of judges... during a Slam Final, of all things... and when you find that you cannot, you cry about the gender unfairness of it? Ummm, okay.
