Naomi Osaka claimed her first Grand Slam title on Saturday after defeating Serena Williams 6-2, 6-4, in the
final of the U.S. Open. With the victory, Osaka became the first Japanese woman to win a Grand Slam singles title.
Williams was looking to win her 24th Grand Slam singles title, which would have tied her with Australia’s Margaret Court for the all-time record. Williams lost after receiving multiple penalties from Chair Umpire Carlos Ramos — including a point penalty for breaking her racket, and then a game penalty for arguing with Ramos and calling him a “thief.”

I’m watching the replay now on the Tennis Channel. What a complete lack of class Williams displayed. And the rowed up audience is not a whole lot better. I’m ashamed of them and disgusted by them. Pathetic!
Hilarious, don’t you hate that one? She looks as if she hasn’t gone for an actual run in about 20 years, yet also somehow doesn’t break a sweat!

She got penalized the game after she threatened the umpire, saying “You will never be on my court again”.
You can call an umpire names, I guess, but you can’t threaten him.

After the match, her coach admitted to the initial infraction of coaching from the stands, but said that everybody does it, so it should not be against the rules.
It was a pre-arranged con job.
Black athletes extorting money from deep pocket sports groups based upon claims of prejudice.
In this situation, both the coach and Serena on different sides of the arena, independently mentioned the rules weren’t enforced with the men’s tournaments so they thought it didn’t apply to them.
Only problem is Serena insisted he wasn’t coaching, when her coach insisted to a reporter independently, without Serena being there, that he intentionally was signalling her the same way the men did it on their games.
3 infractions on the rules, 1st a warning, 2nd a point, 3rd a game penalty, and Serena still arrogantly claims the officials should apologize to her for enforcing the rules.
Sheer arrogance of illegitimate behavior attacking legitimate authority.
Since they both pulled up the issue of “the men do it”, out of the blue, and nobody knows what the heck they are talking about at either location, IMHO, they colluded and planned the event prior to the games. It’s a con job. ESPN is part of it.
Oh brother.
So Williams was lying and should be suspended.
