Deja Vu. I come from New England and most of my family is very liberal (I escaped to the former Confederacy). I remember a trip to North Carolina in the mid 80s to visit my cousin, a former Green Beret in Vietnam and an elected rep in that state. My sister told my cousin that Reagan’s success is only because of the groundwork laid by that economic genius Jimmy Carter.
I don’t remember the exact conversation (I was about 12), but I remember my cousin Jack tearing her apart with logic. Even then I knew it was beautiful....lol
