AR manufacturers have opened up the doors for the many home AR gunsmithers or someone just looking to replace a spring.
If you want to save money or want a higher quality parts than the stock AR, then have a look at some kits below.
Selecting the right AR lowers can be a chore or for some its a fun hobby to put together an optimized AR.
Some of these below ranges from mil-spec to weird G.I. Joes solutions.
Weve dove into some high end gear and junk alike to give you the top lowers in the market.
Brownell's MOE AR15 Lower Parts Kit
Brownells the DPMS Lower kit with their premium quality buffer tube assembly, and a Magpull MOE stock and pistol grip to give you a build kit that is several steps above the competition.
Bravo Company Enhanced AR-15 Lower Parts Kit
Bravo offers premium pistol grip that is highly comfortable than the standard grip combine with an enhanced trigger guard.
This duo really makes it great for the competitive shooter who appreciates a nice, crisp clean break.
DPMS AR-15 Lower Parts Kit
DPMS is a big name in the AR-15 world and they have lowers to fit most budgets.
This kit is a standard mil-spec, though it lacks the bells and whistles the price is affordable. Read the rest of this AR15 lower parts kit here.
Just a comment, now is a good time to buy before they start to raise the prices for Christmas. Even though you might find a few good Black Friday deals the stronger economy is going to lead to much higher demand this year. Do it now if you can. Happy hunting!
Another semi-literate outing from this blog.
“Weve dove into”
Two options not given here that I recommend much more highly than any of them for both price and quality are Palmetto State Armory and CDNN Sports.
Palmetto State Armory build kits are of the highest quality, and last April I built my first AR using a $39 Anderson Lower purchased from a gun show and a $419 PSA Freedom MOE upper with enhanced trigger group.
I now have a 3 gun style rilfe with 15” free float M-LOC handguard, Magpul MOE furniture, and a nickle-boron coated hammer/trigger assembly with zero creep and a very crisp 5 lb break.
Before settling on the PSA kit, I was looking at CDNN Sports for their kits. They are for the very budget minded, as their kits include in addition to complete upper assemblies, lower parts kits, and buttstock assemblies, a basic carrying case and one magazine, for as little as $349.
While generally the information is pretty good, this guy definitely needs an editor.
I just hate it when someone uses "dove" when "doven" is the correct words. ;o)
Ive food luck with th quality from PSA, but the shipping is absolutely horrendous. Ive experienced it taking weeks to receive products from them multiple times.
Good a time as any to ask those interested:
80% Aluminum
-or-
Polymer
Preference?
Why?
Strike ind has my fav set
Pathetic.
But the subject is certainly worth a good article!
I don't know when the last time you ordered from PSA, but they have drastically improved their shipping times. It took less than a week to receive my rifle kit, and less than a week to receive three different ammo orders.
I know they used to have a very poor reputation on shipping, but I think they've really addressed that issue in the past 2-3 years.
You may want to give them another try.
It’s been noted that the author is a foreigner, so while the writing, as an editor, is physically painful to me, I cut him some slack.
PSA was awesome on my buy there this year.
CDNN is ok but shoppers should be aware that they are “liquidators”.
LOL! I get the "physically painful" part, but will try to quit griping. ;)
Thanks for the info! Will def try them again.
A bit off topic, but I bought a complete BCM lower a while back. The trigger break is comparable to my 1911s. Worlds apart from my first Bushmaster AR15.
Maybe someone should offer to quickly check his material before he publishes it.
His failure to select a fit tutor in the Queen's English does not give me overwhelming confidence in his ability to choose a competent instructor in EBR armory.
Not to mention he writes for Am Shooting Journal.
