Kent Sorenson was a crude bully, elected to the Iowa Legislature in 2008. He had ties to both Ron Paul and the Christian conservative movement. He joined the Michelle Bachmann for President campaign in 2011, but defected to Ron Paul in exchange for significant cash payments.

This is one of the weak points of the Tea Party movement....you had various people coming up and getting noted in public speeches and commentary. They could say something and get you hyped-up for their image and position, but you really didn’t know the guy or where he was going with his message.
In some ways maybe a strength. Do you think the establishment politicians are clean as the driven snow? Sometimes we elect people who do things they aren’t supposed to do. This guy was held accountable. How long did Denny Hastert (finally held accountable) and Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd (neither ever held accountable) stay in office?
