As for Cody Wilson, I assume he was targeted because of who he is and probably even entrapped, but he made it easy by doing things he knew were both wrong and illegal. I doubt he knew the girl was underage. I assume he was looking for a prostitute who was just over 18, and probably not for the first time. I also assume someone who disagrees with his politics hired a PI to follow him, hacked his computer, or paid for information from his Internet provider, and based on that information set a trap with an underage prostitute (representing herself as old enough) that they knew he would go for.
Anyone who is not on the left should know better. Especially if you have a high profile, you should assume that someone wants to take you down and will cheat to do so (see Kavanaugh). Don't make it easy for them!
