Incidents like this are the reason Facebook was once called the “world’s most dangerous censor.” On Saturday, we received word from an administrator of the Facebook page “Warriors for Christ” that a post which simply said “Jesus” was yanked by the social media giant with a statement that it violated their nebulous community standards and “looks like spam.”
This is the notification the administrator received:
JesusRich Penkoski, the West Virginia-based pastor who heads up the online ministry, reached out to Facebook for an explanation.

“Please explain how the name Jesus goes against your community standards,” he said in an email obtained by the Conservative Firing Line.
So far, there has been no response.
Incidents like this are the reason activist Chris Sevier drafted the Stop Social Media Censorship Act, a measure that would give users of big social media sites like Facebook a private right of action in the event of political or religious censorship.
