Don’t tell former FBI general counsel James Baker that those now-infamous discussions about secretly recording President Donald Trump and using the tapes to remove him from office were a joke.
He apparently doesn’t believe it. And he held quite the vantage point — he was on the inside of the bureau’s leadership in May 2017, when the discussions occurred.
Baker told Congress last week that his boss — then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe — was dead serious about the idea of surreptitiously recording the 45th president and using the evidence to make the case that Trump should be removed from office, according to my sources.

That was my first thought. It was so unusual to have Rosenstein fly on the plane with Trump. The excuse, of course, was that he was going to a police function. That did not ring true. I wonder if maybe Rosenstein came clean and Trump was able to flip him. If so, this could open up a floodgate. If Rosenstein decided to actually do the job of AG (since Sessions won’t), that could change everything.

This is going to force Rosenstein’s termination, one way or another. What happens to Sessions remains to be seen.
I don’t believe there’s any way Rosenstein will be around post testimony, though.
Not that long ago they would be hanged in public. Nothing should have changed.
Woodstein are probably pawns for the Deep State, pre- Kansas, pre-Haspel Clowns. They have no interest in this story. They would do an investigative study of Larry Sinclair before they would even hint at exploring the possibility that an attack on Hillary’s opponent existed, a coup began on election day, and is still bubbling in the swamp today.
If RR has flipped to save his own skin Mueller has a big problem.
