Local Conservative Talk Show Host, Shannon Joy is advocating for Libertarian Gubernatorial candidate, Larry Sharpe due to his stance on abortion
Ms. Shannon Joy, local talk show host (https://www.theshannonjoy.com/) and never-Trumper, who often refers to both Dems and Repubs as the "uni-brow" party, is not taking into consideration that votes for Sharpe are more likely to take votes away from Molinaro and cause Cuomo to have a net gain in votes.
If Cuomo continues to get re-elected, "Safe" Act Part II will be full instituted and the 2nd amendment will be null and void in New York State. This is particularly crucial in that the mass populace of downstate NY, mostly liberal, tends to outweigh mostly conservative upstate NY (good example to explain WHY we have an electoral college in national votes).
It is stated that if all of the gun owners of upstate voted for the Republican candidate, Molinaro, Cuomo could be defeated. But most upstate voters have resigned themselves to defeat having to square off against downstate.
Although I agree with Ms. Joy on her conservative views, I believe her activities are misguided as a never-Trumper and will guarantee, not a grass roots upswelling of conservatives, but a lock for Cuomo. This is a blue state because of downstate and baby steps are needed. She does not give President Trump credit for slowly draining the swamp despite massive opposition from the GOPe and the Leftist Demonrats.
Many pro-lifers will not vote for a pro-abort Republican if there is a pro-life alternative, as a matter of conscience. Politically, if there isn’t a red line, too many Republicans would bail on pro-lifers like the Conservatives in Canada and most of the Republicans in states like CT have. After the pro-lifers get peeled off, gun rights folks will be next. A few years ago, the NY Republican Party ran Pierre Rinfret as a “fiscal conservative”. He wasn’t even a Republican! He was, however, so pro abort that he campaigned AT abortion mills. He wound up getting 19%.

Someone needs to tell Shannon Joy that. She is broadcasting on several upstate AM radio stations telling her listeners that President Trump is no different than Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi. She is advising all to either sit on their hands come voting day OR vote for the 3rd party candidate.
