There is an old expression that goes like this: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." It's advice Elizabeth Warren should have heeded.
Warren released the results of an ostensible DNA test she had, er, particularly designed for her:
Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Sunday released the results of a DNA test that suggests strong evidence that she has some Native American blood."Strong evidence" Right. This is something Warren has milked for a long timePresident Trump has mocked Warren, D-Mass., as "Pocahontas" for her claims that she is a descendant of Native Americans. The report, which was provided to the Boston Globe, indicated that Warren most likely had a Native American ancestor dating back six or 10 generations.
Stanford University professor Carlos Bustamante analyzed Warrens DNA and said the "vast majority of Warrens ancestry is European. But he concluded that the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor.
She even had recipes to prove it!
The Boston Globe first calculated that this amounted to her being 1/512 Native American but later admitted it wasn't good at math and recalculated it to 1/1024.
The Boston Globe issued a correction Monday after inaccurately calculating the percentage of Native American ancestry in Sen. Elizabeth Warrens DNA.That's pretty small. In fact, it's less then the average European American:After years of skepticism about Warrens claim that she is at least part Cherokee, the Democratic Sen. from Massachusetts recently released the results of a DNA test. The test provided strong evidence that Warren has a Native American ancestor dating back six to 10 generations.
The Boston Globe originally claimed that this put Warren at somewhere between 1/32 and 1/512 Native American.
However, the Globe admitted in a correction that the upper bound of Warrens Native American ancestry is actually 1/1024. This would make Warren somewhere between .09 and 3 percent Native American.
Additionally, her test methods are dubious:
So you don't miss it:
Thus what we're really learning is that Warren is most likely part Mexican. None of her siblings have been tested. Despite the left wing media riding this horse hard, this is not "strong" at all. In fact, it's pretty poor research. This tweet from Sean Davis cracks me up and is a good summary:

“Ich bin ein Native American”?
That title is just hilarious!
Well, she does have the theft gene.
anyone who lies about themselves will probably lie about anything and everything
she does NOT belong in public office
And the Mexican part is probably really Spanish.
At some point, they will have totally destroyed the credibility of a once outstanding university
This whole DNA scam is so methodologically flawed , shoddily executed and transparently political an embarrassment to Stanford, its students, its faculty and its Alumni
Cultural appropriation is not wrong if you’re a donkey.
Ay, yi yi!
Rachel Dolezal believes Warren is Native American.
Lying about something which, even if true is irrelevant to the job of President, seems pointless to me.
I am sure the Cherokee nation comprise many fine people, never having met one as far as I know, but does being a full-blooded Cherokee somehow position one as being more suited to high political office than otherwise?
I don’t see how that’s possible. Obama basically got a free pass for being of a certain mixed racial background that seemed like it should get a chance to shine to some evidently not very bright voters. Well, maybe a different person from the same background would have been a better choice if that was the objective.
And the job of President of the United States is just too important to give away for sentimental or guilt-based reasons like this.
The important thing is not what percentage Cherokee she might be (and who cares) but whether any percentage of any race matters. There might be a full-on Hungarian out there (assuming American birth) who would be the greatest president yet. And there might not. But let’s allow actual ability to determine these important questions and not give out participation awards at this highest level.
Race is a social construct. How dare we question a woman’s personal truth. Believe women .. at least women on the left side of the issue.
