President Donald Trump's approval rating among members of the military has slipped slightly since he took office two years ago, according to a poll by Military Times.
Trump's most recent overall approval rating was 43.8 percent, down from 46.1 percent in 2016. His disapproval rating was 43.1 percent, up from 37 percent two years ago.
Troops overwhelmingly support Trump's handling of military issues over that of former President Barack Obama, however. More than 60 percent said they believe the military is in better shape now than under Obama and nearly the same number have a favorable view of Trump's handling of the military, the poll showed.
Only 13 percent believed the military was in better shape under Obama than Trump.
Trump's approval rating was highest among members of the Marine Corps, with almost 66 percent saying they have either a favorable or very favorable view of the president. The overall favorability rating among the other branches were:
Navy - 49 percent
Air Force - 36.4 percent
Army - 38.1 percent
Men in the military were more likely to have a favorable view of Trump - 47 percent - compared to women - 26 percent.
Military backing remains high for Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, a retired Marine Corps general. Almost 84 percent of active-duty personnel said they support Mattis, including 89 percent of officers.
The poll was conducted between Sept. 20 and Oct. 2 with responses from 829 active-duty troops.

I think this says more about the lower military standards than it does about the Commander in Chief. Standards have hit the bottom. Illegal aliens, transsexuals, homosexuals and others that weren’t allowed to enlist are now all flocking to the military.
Don’t believe this at all.
If CWII ever does happen, there is no guarantee that the Army will side with US.

I would imagine that most of the combat units would.
My daughter did ROTC for Penn State with Dickinson College she said most of her peers were libtarded. She hated Dickinson and was the only Penn State cadet in the group. Penn State Harrisburg did not have their own ROTC program so she was stuck with Dickinson.
And two years of Mattis doing nothing to correct those policies has further crippled readiness.
Some thoughts
The US military has often been an experimental testing ground for social change, i.e. desegregation.
The military somewhat mirrors our society and our society has deep ideological differences about our President.
The military has a hierarchy that is both authoritarian and socialistic in nature.
In our military, the Rambos are few and far between.
Thus I do not think the military would show monolithic support for Trump and his domestic policies. Yet if you would poll the military about the President's support of their institution, the result would be overwhelmingly positive.

Mattis refuses to get rid of drag queens like ordered by his Commander in Chief. That’s the main reason he’s history after the mid-terms. Trump said Mattis was a democrat and I believe he’s right.
My son was in the Marines for 10 years and got out last year because of the PC crap. He said he would give an order to a female and she would tell him that she didn’t have to do it and if he said anything she would say he was trying to get in her pants. So he chucked it all and got a job outside the Corps.
