From the Article

Manufacturers around Door County are seeking more than 400 workers, including several hundred at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding (New USN cruisers, perhaps)

Businesses include Cadence Inc.; ExacTech; Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding; Hatco Corporation; Hi-Tec Fabrication; Key Industrial Plastics; Marine Travelift Inc.; N.E.W. Industries; Pro Products. Inc.; Therma Tron-X Inc.; Sunshine House Inc.; WireTech Manufacturing; and Itasca Automation in Egg Harbor

Faced with a tight labor market, Schuessler said, employers are willing to train new employees. “We have a lot of companies willing to take a person who may not be skilled for a particular position and work with them, and train them, so they can be up to speed with that position,” he said.

I live 10 miles south of door county. I can tell you every trades guy is busy. All the houses are selling. And Green Bay is growing. This is a big difference from three years ago. Just three years ago, businesses were shutting down and houses were not moving. Towns were getting smaller. And the tax base was shrinking.

This part of the country, which normally votes pro-union, voted for Obama then switched to Trump. And they are happy with their decision.
