Does the Russian army still train in the use of the entrenching tool as a thrown weapon? Old Soviet footage shows them sharpening the edges and hurling it like a tomahawk into a wood backstop.

Once upon a time, I came very close to getting the entrenching tool out of the trunk of my car, and removing someone's face from his head.

I decided not to do so, but it was pretty close.
