I always wonder what goes on in the dogs mind.
Takes a dump and if they could by instinct, would hide it, but watch”The Master” pick it up and bring it back with them.

Maybe the dog thinks Mistah Mastah can hide it better..Got me

I wonder the same thing! I too always wonder what goes through a dog's mind. As Jack London once wrote: "A dog gives its master credit for a wisdom that outreaches its own," but seeing him or her stooping over to scoop up its poop must really stretch that credit to the limit!

As for my own experience, my dogs have always gone into the woods to do their thing, they never pooped or peed right on the trail. Even in my backyard, they know to go to the edge of the woods out back. I almost never walk them on public sidewalks as I've already had the luxury of plenty of woods around me.
