Millennial Economic Confusion
Canada Free Press ^ | 10/21/18 | Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Affirmative action, quotas, and other forms of government-approved and academia-sanctioned racial discrimination do not make everyone “equal” or “diverse,” it just suppresses everyone

A social media post captured my attention. A millennial was boasting about a recent home purchase. Nothing out of the ordinary, home ownership is a good thing and people take pride in owning their own place, private property is the bedrock of capitalism and freedom. This millennial was buying in one of the country’s most expensive real estate markets.

While boasting about a “privileged” status of people who could afford to buy homes because they had inherited wealth, the millennial opined that the system is rigged. This spurious “white privilege” system somehow suppresses black people who earn incomes considerably lower than whites.

My kids are 20 and 18, until this year they’ve NEVER seen a good economy, nor the power of capitalism.

It’s no wonder they don’t like capitalism, THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS.

...income disparities exist...because each individual, lucky or unlucky, made personal choices that resulted in economic success or failure.

I honestly believe that, if individuals take responsibility for their actions and know that their effort alone is what sustains them, a lot of this millennial touchy-feely bull crap would disappear. The Participation Trophy generation needs to learn that just showing up does mean your reward is equal to that of everyone else.

Here’s my question for socialists and democrats: what great inventions or works of art, music, theatre, poetry etc. have thrived under a socialist regime?

Socialism squashes any and all freedom of ideas and free enterprise. All those gadgets (iphones, video games, internet etc.) that the millenials cannot live without were NOT created in a socialist country. In a socialist country, anyone who came up with original ideas like those above would be persecuted because those in power would not understand and would feel threatened by such inventions.

I wish those socialist millenials would take a trip to Venezula....what has been produced there apart from chaos?

This sort of relates to what I call, Tet’s theory of Pie.

Liberals see pie as finite, some get more, some less.
They say this is unjust and should be remedied by giving
them more, taking from some who have and then distributing a small percentage of what they take to those with less
in exchange for the power to take.

Conservatives see Pie as infinite, if some have a smaller
piece than others, make a bigger pie!

Gosh - poor Blacks can’t afford mansions....News Flash: I’m White and can’t afford a mansion either-—even though according to statistics, my wife and I have amassed almost 4 times what the average Boomer has...by working hard and saving even when it meant not doing some fun things.

Bad luck and bad choices are contributors to failures, while good luck and good choices contribute to success. Hard work and choosing wisely are also important. Saving money and studying hard are essential variables of success. Blowing everything you earn on parties and a good time every weekend are formulas for failure. Lack of personal responsibility, something no longer taught in this country, contributes greatly to the “social injustices” radical communists rail about.
Thing is, it’s not a one-to-one correlation. The race is not to the swift, even if that is the way to bet ‘em.

And sometimes “the swift” is defined in a very distorted way. For example, school is an artificial environment which produces a distorted ranking of who will do what in adult life. Thus, people who do well in school tend to think that life will be easy because school was easy. It is a lesson which is difficult not to learn when you see others struggling with what comes easily to you.

But go to your 50th reunion and see those “slow kids” as mature adults with a lifetime of making their way in the world - and it should never occur to anyone to look down on anyone else. But believe me, the “slow kids” haven’t forgotten their early struggles.

That’s what parents are for,to tell them what it is.

“That’s what parents are for,to tell them what it is.”

Well I did that for 20 years, but they need to SEE it, EXPERIENCE IT, firsthand.

Otherwise college indoctrination seeps in.
