I see trouble down the road — they are giving away a 55+ home ?
Are they excluding those younger than that ?

Whippany New Jersey 4 bedroom for $10,500 1947. Groucho marx in his show “bet your life” gave away $10,000 during this same time.

'Wheel of Fortune' Will Give Away a Home to a Viewer For the First Time No, they are giving away a house.
A home is a different thing.

Winnings from a game show are taxable income so the value of the house will be reported as such. Between fed and state that will likely be about 40% of value. They will have to get a mortgage just to pay the income taxes.
