Can’t the Navy come up with some original carrier names?

Keep Enterprise. We've had a carrier with that name dating from 1936-1947 and then with CVN 65 from '61-'17.

She would be the 9th ship named Enterprise.

Not to hijack the thread, but Mrs abb & I toured the National Naval Air Museum in Pensacola yesterday, and they have several artifacts from CV-6 Enterprise. Will make chill bumps rise on your arms...

CV6 fought in every major Pacific battle except Coral Sea and won 20 battle stars. Almost every ship to bear her name has become a legend.

I wish the would revert to previous carrier names like Wasp, Saratoga, Hornet, Constellation, Intrepid, Ranger and Yorktown.
