Full title "Joe Donnelly’s Debate Gaffe Exposes The Double Standard The Media Uses To Protect Democrats And Harm Republicans"

Indiana Democrat Senator Joe Donnelly is locked in a tight reelection battle with Mike Braun. Braun has led in six of the last seven polls outside the margin of error, the only outlier is a Donnelly +1 poll on October 22. Indiana is a Republican +18 state that President Trump carried by 19 points in 2016 but somehow, once 538.com throws in their special sauce they have Donnelly as a 2:1 favorite. Whatever.

Last night, Donnelly and Braun faced off in a debate that produced one of the most bizarre answers in debate history.

We want everybody to have a chance in Indiana and in America, and my offices reflect that – both on the campaign side and on the Senate side. Our state director is Indian American, but he does an amazing job. Our director of all constituent services, she’s African American, but she does an even more incredible job than you can ever imagine. It isn’t their race or their religion, it’s the incredible person that they are. But at the same time, they have to have a chance. they have to have an opportunity, and that’s my responsibility. And I’ve done it in every office I’ve had, and I’ve done it in every campaign I’ve had, because my campaigns and our Senate office should reflect the face of Indiana.

Read this again, slowly.

Our state director is Indian American, but he does an amazing job. Our director of all constituent services, she’s African American, but she does an even more incredible job than you can ever imagine.

Donnelly seems to be saying that despite being Indian or black that his two staffers have managed to actually perform their duties successfully. Freudian slip? Stupidity? Who knows and who cares? You can’t help but think about Mitt Romney and his binders full of women or Ron DeSantis using the phrase “monkey up” and realize that if Mike Braun had said this, that is the only story you’d be hearing about that race from now to election day. As it is, this is going to get little to no mainstream media attention because Donnelly is a Democrat.

This is just another exhibit in how the media is working as the propaganda arm of the Democrat party. They magnify inconsequential gaffes by Republicans, making them into campaign endangering stories, and quietly sandbag similar gaffes by Democrats or they make them into charming, heartwarming vignettes:(videos at link)

✔ @DonaldJTrumpJr This is nothing more than thinly veiled racism from @JoeForIndiana. Just imagine the coverage this would be getting if he were a Republican, but because he’s a Democrat…Virtually crickets from the media. #InSen 10:34 AM - Oct 31, 2018

exactly- Desantis uses a term “monkey around” which is often used and he’s branded as a racist...but Donnelly’s statements go unnoticed by the lib media..

The Indianapolis Red Star - which would be calling for his head on a platter had it been a Republican - merely asks “is this gaffe ultimately damaging to Donnelly?”

And, of course, the answer is a resounding no.

“And” is the correct word to use, Donnelly.

I’m reminded of an old gaffe by an ‘80s politician, I cannot remember who just now, where to show how diverse their campaign was they listed off the minorities they employed.

The bias is deliberate and intentional. They scan the words of Republicans trying to get them. They give dems a free pass. They know exactly what they are doing.

No if and about it!

What a POS racist, but he’s a Democrat.

See — the “but” works there!

All the cool organizations do it now, but they call it “featuring” the minorities they employ, while congratulating themselves on how diverse they are.

The disgusting Hilderbeast just recently said that all Negroes look alike, and they all laughed and applauded. She hasn’t yet been asked to apologize.

The left isn’t giving this gaffe an absolute pass. Why? Because desperate Donnelly said he’s open to changing birthright citizenship. This hasn’t gone over well with the left at all.

Donnelly is doing like desperate democrats in red states — running to the right near election day. They soon go back to Schumer and Pelosi’s corner as soon as they’re reelected.

Donnelly always runs to the right during election season.

He started out this one bragging about his Trumpiness.. while letting Schumers Senate Dem PAC do the insane, lying attacks on Braun

The "80s politician" you're thinking of is James Watt, Reagan's Secy of the Interior.

In defending against accusations of not being diverse in his own staff hiring, he mentioned some commission he had appointed to advise him, saying, "I have a black, a woman, two Jews and a cripple."

Even as far back as 35 years ago, most people had replaced "cripple" with "handicapped" in their vocabulary, so it kind of grated on the ears.

but by leaving off the next sentence, it’s taken out of context

“It isn’t their race or their religion, it’s the incredible person that they are.”

I remember now! I also remember in Bloom County where Limekiller, the Meadow Party’s candidate for President, made a similar statement. If only they’d been Democrats it would have blown over.
