A wonderful song to end your month.
Thank you Johnny Mercer for the inspiration and Barry Manilow who finished this song.
Good old Barry, who had to walk off the set of a talk show because a conservative stepped on it :)
.. I should be over it now I know, it doesn't matter much how old I grow ..
My favorite season, and my life's dearest memories . . .
Manilow had become friends with Johnny Mercer’s widow, Ginger, who gave him lyrics that hadn’t yet gotten a melody.
According to Barry Manilow, this is the song that Frank Sinatra had in his back pocket when he died. He was going to put it on his next album.
That’s lovely. It would have been nice to hear Sinatra sing it - it’s a lot like ‘Autumn Leaves’.
Lovely!
Beautiful. Nice way to end a busy month. I read Oct had become the most popular month for weddings. Foliage has not changed here yet.
