To: Intolerant in NJ
It quotes the rabbi as saying he “was ‘pleasantly surprised’ to discover a ‘warm and personal side’ to President Trump”. It goes on to say “The president was very warm, very consoling, put his hand on my shoulder, and the first question he asked me was, “Rabbi, tell me how you are doing’”. Somebody slipped up somewhere......

A backhanded compliment to be sure.

Sounds backhanded for sure - I can’t quote the whole article but the rabbi is quoted elsewhere as saying he doesn’t think the country has seen the warm side of Trump, so his comment seems more in the way of Trump should show that side of himself more often than of I didn’t think he had it in him......
