This isn't even close to my experience in my local Whole Foods. The people are as friendly as the employees, and Whole Foods employees are much friendlier (and more helpful) than employees at other groceries.

As for Whole Foods being lib, people forget that the founder and CEO, John Mackey, is a Libertarian, and that he got into trouble with libs by publicly trashing Obamacare. I know it merged with Amazon, but Mackey is still the CEO and the place just plain sells good-quality foods. Especially in the meat and veg departments.

Haven't read thru all the responses so someone may have touched on this ... Whole Foods builds stores only in areas that meet their demographic requirements. Upscale areas, or immediately adjacent. The closest Whole Foods store in western CO (where I live) is in the Aspen area. Another one further east towards Denver in Frisco/Dillon. Several on the front range in the Denver/Boulder area.

Whole Foods is a disgusting place. I hold my nose and maintain a grip on my stomach when I so much as get near the foul place.
