Police in the Democrat haven of Maryland shot and killed a man in his home on Monday while serving a “protective order” under a new law which allows them to seize people’s guns without due process.

Since the new gun confiscation law went into effect on October 1st, police have carried out 114 such confiscation orders, which comes out to over 3 such seizures every day.

Red flag. This is not a good sign for our future. Sad.

An order from the courts based soley on one testimony (sister in this case) with no due process or the man being able to defend himself in front of a jury of his peers.

Seems to me that this is outrageously unconstitutional.

Agree that this should go before a judge first.

Buy a gun this week. If you have the means buy 2. Buy American made ammo and gun products. Buy guns for Christmas. Send a message.

Could’ve been worse — they could have executed him on his front lawn for everyone to see, as they did in the 30’s in Nazi Germany.

According to the spokesman, Willis put his firearm down to read the ERPO but then, apparently recognizing that it wasn’t a legal search warrant issued by a judge in accordance with protections guaranteed to him by the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution but instead was issued by a local judge under Maryland’s newly minted “red flag” law, he retrieved his firearm.

The spokesman said that Willis “became irate.” In the melee that followed, one of the firearms carried either by one of the officers or by Willis, went off. One of the officers then pulled his own sidearm and shot Willis dead.

Family members told Capital Gazette reporters that a distant relative had requested the ERPO the day before, due to an “incident” that occurred at his residence. The details of the “incident” remain unclear at this writing, but the backpedaling by the police chief began almost immediately.

Resistance to Maryland’s newly minted and unconstitutional “red flag” laws, as Gary Willis found out early Monday morning, was not only futile but fatal.

Resistance to Red Flag Laws Cost This Gun Owner His Life

That is exactly how they will do it. Every gun owner will be a terrorist or psychotic by virtue of being a gun owner. This story was posted this morning and some commenters were blaming the victim. According to them he should have peacefully complied and given them his property.

This man had alcohol issues. Tell the whole story.

Yeah. So his family called the cops for help and they killed him.

“The family called and ordered the removal “

Apparently not. From the post:

“Family say he wasn’t dangerous just strongly opinionated”

Under the DPRM law, cops can issue the protective order. So it sounds to me that someone called to complain about the situation and the cops went and got the order before heading over there.

No problem. I didn’t take it that way.

My main problem is that the police were put in an impossible situation that will almost never end well. That’s on the law and the judge...

Thanks

We cannot expect the local MD media to say anything critical of the Law or the Law Enforcement. MD is a ComDem controlled police state in some matters.

I have relatives who live there, near DC. I have been able to avoid going there. Have other relatives South of DC. That is still not in my comfort zone.

smile.

It is a sad state of affairs when a judge will so easily look the other way when dealing with something as important as the 4th amendment
