Grizzly Bear takes Shotgun Blast at point-blank range

When a Canadian family noticed a group of bears on their property, the father attempted to scare them off by firing a warning shot into the air. Unfortunately, this provoked the mother bear, who charged. Amazingly, the man was able to fire off his last shot, momentarily knocking the beast off her feet and giving him enough time to make it back to safety. He later tracked the bear family, and believes while the mama bear is sore, she’s okay. See the footage of bear attacks.

Just what is point blank range for a shotgun?

Depends on the choke, round, and barrel length. Up close probably 5ft or less #8 shot will kill a human in the right spot.

I know of an ongoing investigation in my county where the victim was found dead, presumable due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. This is the working theory of the sheriff’s department.

He shot himself in the head with a shotgun, yet there is not one drop of blood to be found on him or his clothing. Figure that one out. Nothing adds up about this as self-inflicted with a shotgun to the head at point blank range. He shouldn’t have a head.
