It is a longstanding pet peeve of mine. I hate this. It makes me feel as if we are a nation of snowflakes.
I understand doing it for Pearl Harbor. I understand 9/11. I understand when a President dies, even ones I disliked.
But this reeks of weakness to me, the lowering of the flag at everything that happens.
At home, I simply refuse to do it on my flag.
We have become a weepy, womanly society.
It cheapens the honor. Like when the Mountain Home AFB base commander agreed for a base wide memorial service for one of the guard dogs that died. Come on.
