Ocasio-Cortez has praised Pelosi for reinstating the special committee, even though she wants it to have far broader authority to craft legislation remaking the U.S. energy grid.
“We need to act on climate change NOW w/ a *fossil fuel $-free* Select Committee *with a mandate* to draft a Green New Deal,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted earlier Thursday. “It’s our best chance to beat the clock.”
Pallone declined to comment on what happened during the closed-door meeting, but further explained why he opposes the select committee.
“My fear is that if you have a select committee, by the time the select committee gets going, gets appointed and hires staff that it might actually delay what we’re doing,” the New Jersey Democrat told reporters. “We’ve got people who are in charge of these committees who are very progressive and I just don’t see the need for the select committee. I think it may actually delay what the progressives are trying to achieve.”

Well, I’m not gonna be happy until I see AOC go toe-to-toe with HRH Pelosi. If AOC thinks the troops will rally behind her, she’s dreaming. Pelosi brings in tons of money for the party and they’re not going to kick her to the curb in favor of an addle-brained teeny bopper who can’t even afford an apartment.

That’s a similar observation I made a while back. She seems to be attacking everything similar to where the hippies and the cultural revolution crowd of the 1960’s attacked everything as being the “establishment”. Another similarity is this toothy twit is getting all the media attention, just like the 1960’s revolutionaries did.

No, the Dems and their allies in the media will exploit every minute of the next two years. Endless attacks on Trump, political obstruction, budget fights, threats to industry, destructive economic legislation, etc. It going to be worse than anyone can imagine.
This is going to be the circus the Dems have wanted and worked for. There is no silver lining to two years of acrimony, politically driven investigations, and gridlock. This is a disaster for the country.
She makes Pelosi seem rational and thoughtful!
