The gamo whisper is a break-barrel springer (noisy), and breaks the sound barrier (even more noise). A full power .22 firing a 40 grain round at 1200 ft/sec develops about 127 ft-lbs of energy. Everything you can do to quiet that down will detract from the energy it delivers on target.

By comparison, a suppressed .25 firing a 34 grain pellet at about 1050 ft/sec (below the speed of sound, thus no sonic boom) delivers about 90 ft-lbs of energy and make less noise than striking a match.

How fast is a follow-up shot with your setup? A head shot on a deer with mine should be sufficient. And that’s the biggest thing I’d shoot.
