Bad Headline - progressivism is a way of thinking, a selfish, controlling, manipulative way of thinking. It is not a disease.
Labeling as disease seems to give people an out “I have a disease” when in reality they are choosing repeatedly to think in ways that are self focused (for an outcome they want), that are controlling of others and manipulative in that they will stop at nothing and steamroll whomever to get to their desired goal.
It’s pure evil born by choice after choice creation in their mind.
Many decades ago, Thomas Szasz wrote the book “The Myth of Mental Illness”.
He did not try to say that chemical imbalances did not exist. He didn’t say that Schizophrenia doesn’t exist. He didn’t say that Depression doesn’t exist.
But he did make the point that you’re making — a lot of people with “problems” are just people who “think wrong”. They’ve grown up with thought processes which do them no favors. They worry, they obsess, they wallow in negative emotions. Neurotic behavior (and other behaviors) are not a disease: they are just unfortunate ways of thinking about the world and approaching daily struggles.
Progressivism definitely fits that description. Not a disease. Just a bad approach to life.
