Ok, I read the whole tortured article to find the argument to support the headline.

The closest I got to them having fewer diseases is this

The two-year study found that international migrants are less likely than people in their host countries to die of heart disease, cancer, respiratory diseases and other ills. The exceptions are hepatitis, tuberculosis and HIV. But the study also found these infections are generally only spread within the affected immigrant communities and not to the wider population.

So, yes, the 25 year old men crossing over have fewer non-communicable old people’s diseases, but they have more communicable diseases. The way they fight disease is by working in health care, as if we wouldn’t have healthcare workers if they didn’t come over. I don’t believe the study makes a distinction between legal and illegal, either.

"I don’t believe the study makes a distinction between legal and illegal, either."

Imperative that it doesn't, similar to the 'immigrant crime' stats.

Frankly, I'm surprised the writer didn't make the claim that immigrants makes us 'healthier' by exposure to __________ which helps build our resistance to_______.
