One of my first “real” jobs was working at the local 5 & dime. That place had everything.
One aisle had a wide variety of small toys (army men, etc.) and candy, across from small household gadgets. Another whole aisle devoted to knitting & sewing items. Clothes. Dried flowers. Pots & pans. Hardware. etc. Oh, and one mannequin.
During Christmas (as the stockboy), I got to convert the whole upstairs backroom to a toy & gift wonderland. Old - time Christmas carols over the loudspeakers.
Ah, to go back in time.....
Still here in Endwell, Grew up on the So Side...
Count me in!
