True, but it remains shocking. The FBI has taken a true nosedive in the respect it was once held in since Ruby Ridge. Americans many times must think of the FBI as a Keystone Kops version of the KBG. When I was in college the people the FBI extra constitutionally hassled were obvious enemies of the US and general public order. Now average Americans are seen by this agency as the enemy and the internal enemies of the US are seen as friendly elements.

Since the story is almost a year old, you're right; nothing came of it. Except the people who may have planned certain hypothetical exercises are presumably still employed within the FBI and Federal Protective Services.
A few hundred intemperate text messages (deleted from phones, but almost certainly recorded by the NSA for "quality control purposes") are of minor concern, really.
