“Progressives” were never for the character of the nation as it was founded to be, they were never actually “liberal” in the sense of American Liberalism (French “liberalism” maybe, for the French republic was ever one with a Constitution that defined the responsibilities of the departments of government and largely left the means, or powers, to attain those ends up to those in government at the time) and even at their start they were for Arbitrary government and absolute rule rather than governance by constitutional means.
Yet even the most corrupt examples of that breed to ever appear, men such as LBJ or Nixon, were at least American progressives and wouldn’t willingly sell out the United States, especially not so cheaply as the Clintons and Obama have done.
These new “progressives”, at least those in the DNC, are calling a dance in the manner of the Alinskites or even the Cultural Marxists, both of which were flavors of Useful Idiots to the old Soviets. Now, cut loose from their old master after it fell, they serve the wants of their elites or foreign interests (the ChiComs in particular) or the likes of the Muslim Brotherhood essentially freely.
Nothing remains of the old extreme Left that’s extreme to the DNC anymore. They ARE the people that the anticommunists of old were trying to prevent. A lot of their base is still operating on outdated notions of who they really are, but those that are eyes wide opening seems to be growing and that’s why people like Sanders or this barista chick can even be popular in the DNC (Sanders doesn’t even have to pretend he’s an independent anymore).
They want to destroy American and RINOs wants to help, too...
