Well right. As in an operation where much blood is needed one would use a transfusion from multiple donors.
Actually I worked in a biologics facility in which we pooled human plasma and made various serums. Ie Anti Hemophilic factor, Human Albumin, and IVIG and more. I would think a thousand or more donors like my company pooled into a single tank would NOT be the way to go. To much chance of disease transfer. I would suspect just the number needed for one person to receive in a single transfusion.
I would imagine 20 year old college students who were tested and found disease free wouldnt mind getting a grand or so for a unit of blood.
