That’s what I thought of too. Someone with a better memory will be along shortly (or the freeper himself).

I have read that one should try to fight off a cougar if attacked as they may try for easier prey. Brown bears iirc you should play dead and protect your head, black bears and grizzly should try to fight?

It was a buck knife, I remember that. In Canada, I think. His dog blocked the bear, the bear turned on the dog, then the guy jumped on the bear’s back and hacked away. He provided photos at the time.

I remember reading that...can’t remember who that was.

I am drawn to bear threads. There is something horrifying, magnificent, and yet, hilarious about bears.
