He’s lucky it was a young one. A full-grown male/female is formidable.
[Over 23yrs, I shot a dozen-plus of rabid coons, possums, groundhogs and even a large pit bull, on my 20ac nursery. All the brains were removed and medically-tested, to confirm rabies.]
What state do you live in that rabies is that much of a problem?
I’ll call your bluff on that. Possums don’t get rabies. They aren’t warm enough.
