Yup! And I guarantee you Randi used my review to get the attention of Air America. Yeah, I made her look like the NUTCASE that she was/is but she was so desperate to go national that she probably figured there is no such thing as bad publicity.
I’m not saying this to put you down, or your influence in the Randi Rhodes saga, but when you said in the video “just to give you an idea of how big she was,” I don’t think she was ever really very big at all. It’s just that the MSM back then, including the WP, NYT, NPR, and others, was doing everything they could do to boost and promote Air America. They actually thought they could mount a credible counterattack against Rush Limbaugh, which was a total pipe-dream. Or maybe I should say bong-dream.
They stole the name Air America from the CIA’s airline in Laos during the Vietnam war. I flew in their helicopters inside Vietnam a couple of times.
As a result, Randi is shamelessly promoting herself for the slot, on the air, to the extent of asking the viewers to call up the radio syndication services and plead her case.I mean, can you imagine that, she actually was on the air, begging her listeners... to call up.
...and then of course to leave WJNO...
I don't know how the managers allowed her to do that, but they did.
I'm thinking the reason might involve the subject of Lewinskis, mentioned earlier in the video.
