Walmart also sells their ironware in the sporting goods section for camping - And the seasonal clearances are significant if you get them at the right time.

Now is not the right time though. If you go at the end of the fall they can be found for a dollar.

I used to use cast iron, but I found little in-perceivable spots of rust throughout the pan. Taking care of these pans takes a long time.

I don’t use teflon either - but I do use bare aluminum. Just have to watch the food cooking and use a good cooking spray ALL the time. I got the pump spray can and fill it with EEVO and it works quite well.

Not really. First, never use soap. Simply use a bristle brush to scrub it out with hot water. Dry it with a towel and set it back on the still-hot (off) burner to quickly dry the rest of the way. Wipe with a little vegetable oil and put away.

That’s it.

BOL! Since, there are no cast iron skillets to be passed on to our adult sons, they went to Walmart and bought a couple of skillets.

One was a chef for a couple of decades and if he doesn’t cook a meal on his charcoal/gas grill. He often uses the cast iron skillets to prepare meals that are so good there are never any left overs. He has a friend, who was also a chef. Besides the normal cast iron skillets, he has a paella
skillet that is huge. He cooks paella for at least a dozen friends over an open wood fire. You need to be or have an industrial engineer to use that skillet, it is so big.

The other son is married to a woman, who is allergic to the cooking odor and leftover goodies left in cast iron skillets after using them. He uses his cast iron skillets when camping or in his back yard on a charcoal/gas grill whenever she is away during marathons or whatever.
