I take extreme exception to the term “McCarthyite”.
I know it is a rhetorical tool used on both sides of the political spectrum, but Joseph McCarthy should be venerated as an American hero.
The same way Donald Trump is hopefully buying us time as a nation, Joseph McCarthy bought us time in his multi-year campaign againt communists in the Federal Government. He personally made Communism disreputable (as it damn well should be) and delayed the onset of Leftist radicalism for at least a decade and a half.
It wasn’t until the late Sixties or early Seventies that they began to crawl back out of the woodwork into the light of day, and look where we are now.
I am formulating a thread that is going to compare Joe McCarthy and Donald Trump, as there are many similiarities, not only in personal temperment, but in both the public scourging by powerful forces.
The GOP is a total waste...we need a new party for Trump. voters
